Join Professor Nik Money, Director of the Western College Program for an informal talk with Ismael about her work.

Jenann Ismael is Professor of Philosophy at Columbia University. Ismael's research examines the philosophy of physics and metaphysics, especially in areas involving the structure of space and time, quantum mechanics, and the foundations of physical laws. She is the author of How Physics Sets Us Free, The Situated Self, and Essays on Symmetry. In 2003, she was awarded an NEH fellowship at the National Humanities Center.  She has also held the Queen Elizabeth II Research Fellowship from the Australian Research Council (2005), and fellowships from the Templeton Foundation and the Center for Advanced Studies in Behavioral Science at Stanford University.
