Join us for an informal talk with Lisa about her work.

Lisa Baraitser is Professor of Psychosocial Theory in the Department of Psychosocial Studies at Birkbeck College, University of London. She is the author of Maternal Encounters: The Ethics of Interruption (Routledge, 2009) and Enduring Time (Bloomsbury, 2017). She is the recipient of a collaborative award from the Wellcome Trust (with Laura Salisbury) for “Waiting Times,” a five-year cycle of research on temporality and care in health contexts. She is co-convener of “Mapping Maternal Subjectivities, Identities and Ethics,” an interdisciplinary research network on the maternal, and founder and co-editor of the journal Studies in the Maternal. She has written extensively on care, motherhood, time, psychoanalysis, and feminist and queer theory. She has an independent practice as a psychotherapist.
