Bryant Simon, professor of History and American Studies at Temple University, will be giving the Charles R. and Elizabeth C. Wilson Lecture in History. His talk comes from his new book, The Hamlet Fire: A Story of Cheap Food, Cheap Government and Cheap Lives. Simon's work explores the 1991 fire in Hamlet, North Carolina that resulted in the deaths of 25 people while discussing how cheap labor, cheap government, and cheap food inevitably led to the tragedy.
