"Son, I'd rather not talk about it...": Holocaust Hero and Righteous Among the Nations

Friday, April 13, 2018
5:00 pm
Benton Hall 102

Chris Edmonds is the son of Roddie Edmonds, a Master Sergeant who, after his unit was captured in the Battle of the Bulge, refused to identify to the Germans the Jewish servicemen in his unit and instead ordered everyone to self-identify as Jewish, in solidarity.  His actions saved the Jewish service members, and Roddie Edmonds has since been recognized by Yad Vashem as a Righteous Among the Nations.  Chris Edmonds has done extensive research on his father and spoken widely about his father's heroism.

Sponsored by Center for American and World Cultures, Holocaust Education Fund of the Department of History, Hillel Association of Jewish Students, Hillel Foundation at Miami University, Hillel International
