Lillian Schwales graduated from Miami University in 2012 with a BA in English literature and a business management and operations minor.
While at Miami and after graduation, Lillian worked in sales and marketing for Top Trumps USA, where she developed new games, planned marketing events, and negotiated product sponsorships. Lillian obtained her Juris Doctor at the American University in 2016 where she won a J.D. Distinguished Fellowship giving her the opportunity to work with the Project on Addressing Prison Rape (PAPR) post graduation. There, she assisted the federal government with policy and educational materials development related to the treatment of LGBTQ persons in custody.
In 2017, Lillian started as an attorney at the Navajo Nation Department of Justice, working in Window Rock, Arizona, and specializing in economic and community development. She is licensed to practice law in Virginia, New Mexico and on the Navajo Nation. She is a Miami Merger with husband David Schwales ’12.
