C. Thi Nguyen is a professor of philosophy at the University of Utah, and a specialist in the philosophy of games, the philosophy of technology, and the theory of value. A former food writer for the Los Angeles Times, Nguyen is active in public philosophy, writing about trust, art, games, and communities for the New York Times, the Washington Post, New Statesman, and elsewhere. His first book, Games: Agency as Art (2020), was awarded the American Philosophical Association’s 2021 Book Prize. Nguyen was named to Vox’s 2024 Future Perfect 50 list of “thinkers, innovators, and changemakers” who are working to make the world a better place. He is also the winner of the 2020 American Philosophical Association Article Prize for his paper “Games and the Art of Agency.”
