Historian Brianna Nofil will discuss her recent book, The Migrant's Jail: An American History of Mass Incarceration. Nofil will discuss how the century-long economic, political, and ideological exchange between immigration bureaucracy and the criminal justice system birthed the nation’s vast immigration detention system.
