Intended for first, second, and third-year students, this free workshop helps students get started on research projects in the humanities.
During the workshop, students will
- learn how to design a research project and select the appropriate research method.
- draft a proposal to apply for Miami’s Undergraduate Research Awards, Undergraduate Summer Scholars, and national undergraduate research opportunities.
- learn how humanities research offers a unique opportunity to connect with your audience through narrative and storytelling.
- workshop their research ideas and writing and get direct feedback from a faculty member.
- hear from faculty about their research experiences, including challenges and rewards.
In order to participate students must
- register in advance at this link.
- submit a draft of a proposal or the beginning of a research paper before the workshop to the workshop’s Canvas site. (In other words, have something written out that you plan to work on during the workshop. This does not need to be polished or complete.)
The workshop will be led by Professor Oana Godeanu-Kenworthy, Global and Intercultural Studies.
