The Institute for the Environment and Sustainability (IES) is hosting this year’s Willeke lecture featuring Mr. Rob Bilott, the environmental lawyer whose story was made famous in the 2019 movie, Dark Waters. Mr. Bilott fought DuPont on behalf citizens of Parkersburg, WV who were victims of PFOA and PFOS contamination caused by chemical dumping. (In the movie, Dark Waters, Mr. Bilott was played by Mark Ruffalo. The movie also stars Anne Hathaway and Tim Robbins.

IES will also host a screening Dark Waters on Monday, September 9 at 6:30 pm in Room 221 Kreger with a discussion to follow. And yes, there will be popcorn!
