As part of the Lithuania Program sponsored by the Havighurst Center, this year's annual lecture on Lithuania will be given by Dr. Saulius Sužiedelis, Professor Emeritus of history at Millersville University of Pennsylvania, a leading expert on the history of World War II and the Holocaust in Lithuania. As the war in Ukraine has reignited concerns about the role of nationalism in defining the future of Europe, Dr. Sužiedelis will discuss the complex evolution of nationalism and the challenges it presents for our understanding of both historical narratives and current crises.
