Lyuba Yakimchuk is an acclaimed writers in Ukraine. Born and raised in a coal-mining town in eastern Ukraine, Yakimchuk lost her family home in 2014 when Russian militants occupied the region. Her book of poetry, Apricots of Donbas, came out in the later half of 2021 and she read a poem from the collection at the 2022 Grammy Awards.
