Timefulness: How Thinking Like a Geologist Can Help Save the World

Marcia Bjornerud is Professor of Geosciences at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. Her research has explored the physics of earthquakes and mountain building in high arctic Norway and Canada, mainland Norway, Italy, New Zealand, and the Lake Superior region. Bjornerud is a fellow of the Geological Society of America and was a Fulbright Senior Scholar in Norway and New Zealand.  She is a contributing writer to The New Yorker, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Wall Street Journal, and Wired, and she is the author of two books for popular audiences, Reading the Rocks: The Autobiography of the Earth, and Timefulness: How Thinking Like a Geologist Can Help Save the World. Before moving to Lawrence, she was a tenured member of the geology department at Miami University.
