The Problem of Humanities in Communication Research

Armond Towns, Associate Professor of Africana Studies at Williams College, is a scholar of Black studies, cultural studies, and media philosophy. He is the author of On Black Media Philosophy and cofounder of the journal, Communication and Race. He previously taught at the University of Denver and the University of Richmond, where he helped established a new Africana Studies Program. He is currently developing a project on the relationship between the fields of communication and Black studies.
