What the L: Language Research at Miami

"What the L" presents two sociolinguistics talks: "Identifying and Categorizing Dialects: Attitudinal and Behavioral Approaches" by Dr. Phillip Weirich, Visiting Assistant Professor of Linguistics, and "Language Planning and Lexical Innovation in Modern China" by Dr. Michael Opper, Visiting Assistant Professor of Linguistics.

Dr. Weirich received his Ph.D. in linguistics from Indiana University in 2019. Dr. Opper received his Ph.D. in linguistics from the University of Michigan in 2017. Both Drs. Weirich and Opper joined the Miami University linguistics program in 2019.
