As part of the inaugural Western College Legacy Seminars series, Tateishi will provide his insider perspective on how Japanese Americans imprisoned during WWII won a rare legislative victory for reparations, and what lessons can (and cannot) be carried forward to contemporary struggles.
Tateishi served as the National Redress Director for the Japanese American Citizens League during the reparations campaign and has since authored 2 books about the experience, including Redress: The Inside Story of Japanese American Reparations (2020)
